Backwaxed is a compilation album by Canadian heavy metal band Anvil, released on April 22 1985. The band has been cited as highly influential on many notable heavy metal groups, including Megadeth, Slayer, Anthrax, and Metallica. Anvil! The Story of Anvil (2008), a documentary about the band by director and former Anvil roadie Sacha Gervasi, received international acclaim, earned several awards including an Emmy, and has been lauded as one of the greatest "rockumentaries" ever made.
